Uva Technologies was founded in 2021 with a shared belief: the modern wine cellar should be as intelligent as it is beautiful.

 

The idea first came to Christian after his parents built a home with a dedicated wine cellar. An elegant space that remained unfinished because they couldn’t find racking that met both their aesthetic and functional expectations. The available options were expensive, traditional, and lacked innovation. It raised an important question: at this level of investment, why couldn’t the system also be smart?

 

Along with co-founders Stéphane, Mat, Christine, and Jeffrey, the team envisioned a new kind of cellar experience, one where technology works in harmony with elegant design. A system where collectors could use an app to filter their collection by region, varietal, or price point, and see the corresponding bottles light up directly on the racking. The goal was clear: to create a seamless, intuitive connection between the digital and physical experience of collecting wine.

 

Designed for collectors who value both form and function, Uva has focused on developing a smart wine racking system integrated with the Smart Sommelier™ app since 2021. From hardware and connectivity to UX and craftsmanship, the team has built Uva from the ground up with a focus on refinement, usability, and timeless design.
